What a day!
My babies and I slept in wickedly late~ a lazy bunch of bums we were being. So we wake up, little bear wants eggs like Grandma use to make, so I boil up some eggs, make the egg salad, toast the bread and we ate "Grandma's Breakfast" together.
Then I did a little housework before the baby wanted to have his play time. Little bear and I played with baby, reading to him, playing a peek-a-boo game and encouraging him to chatter, crawl and do all the things he has been learning to do.
Soon after, the neighbor kids came over and we set up the swimming pool for them to all play in for a bit. They had a blast, and no fighting, just lots of fun in the water. After a while the kids got the squirt guns out and played with them for a bit. Then it was nap time...
Little bear decided that she wanted to curl up with me today, she was missing her Grandma something fierce. She chattered on about how Grandma use to let her nap with her and how she missed doing that. I just snuggled with her and let her chatter on...
We were woke up from our nap by my son coming over, he was letting us know that Sis was almost home. We knew that already since we had been talking with her off and on through out the day. But it was sweet of the boy to let us know. So then he was off to hang out with some friends before Dad got back.
Pretty soon, son is back at the house. He tells us he just hung up with Sis and she and her friend were on their way over. He no longer got the words out of his mouth than the front door was flung open and I had an arm full of my girl... She was so excited to be home and spend some time with us.
It was off to the burger joint for a snack for all of the kids... a little motely crew of 6 kids dancing along the sidewalk all excited and giggling and happy. So much fun to see...
We were all back at the house when another knock at the door came...
My grandson and his Mom had come by to see us.
My little apartment was FULL of family and friends! It doesn't get much better than moments like this! And so for a couple of hours I had my family together, lots of good conversation with all of them and my heart feels all warm and mushy after having them all here today.
Truly a JOYFULL LIFE!
